Why I Moved To West Egg

I moved to West Egg because I wanted to get out of the Mid West and really do something with my life. I wanted to live near the city, but not actually in it. I came to New York wanting to work on Wall Street. I wanted to learn and hopefully make a living being a bondsman in the market. But most of all, I wanted to live a different life than the life I lived out West. Life in the East was always known to be much more exciting. I wanted to be successful in business and in life. I was hoping to change my entire lifestyle by coming to New York. I decided to live far enough away so that I wasn't quite in the city. However, I did have to take the train into the city to get to work everyday. So West Egg turned out to be the perfect place for me. It was right across from East Egg, where my cousin Daisy Buchanan and her husband Tom Buchanan lived. In fact, their house was directly across the bay from my house. I didn't move to East Egg because that's for more prominent, wealthy families. I was looking for a place just for myself so I didn't need anything too big. Even though most of the mansions were on East Egg, I managed to move in right next to the biggest, most extravagant house I've ever seen.  I thought I was the luckiest man alive. This is the lifestyle I'm going to have one day...
